Boundary County Online School
We're so excited to announce a new partnership with Boundary County School District! Out of a desire to serve local families who want to educate their children at home, an online school was created to partner with Overture: Boundary County Online School. We are excited to welcome new families for the 2024-25 school year! Students enrolled in Boundary County Online through Overture have access to funding to purchase curriculum and supplies, teachers who support and enrich your learning at home, classes and programs available through the district as well as custom instruction designed to support the specific needs of the students in our program, and a community of families to share in experiences such as free field trips and other enrichment activities.
We have 100 spots for the 2024-25 school year. Don't wait.

Melissa Bateman
Teacher
My name is Melissa Bateman, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as one of Boundary County School District’s new online teachers.
I decided in 5th grade that I wanted to be a teacher. My fifth-grade teacher inspired me and I have always wanted to do that for other children.
My husband Cal and I have five sons and one daughter. Two of our sons are married to amazing young women and they have blessed us with three beautiful grandbabies!!!
One of my greatest joys is fostering a love of reading in children. I believe that every child has the potential to excel academically and personally, and I am here to support you in creating a customized educational experience that meets the unique needs and interests of your family.
Together, we will explore innovative educational strategies, celebrate milestones, and navigate challenges with resilience and positivity. I look forward to collaborating with each of you, sharing resources, and creating memorable learning experiences that inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Robin Merrifield
Principal
Robin Merrifield, the dedicated principal of Naples Elementary School and the new Boundary County Online School, has been a passionate advocate for education since 1998.
She has served Boundary County Schools since 2005, in a variety of capacities: elementary and middle school teacher, the district's curriculum director, Naples principal, is now excited to serve Boundary County Online School in collaboration with Overture Learning.
Robin takes pride in calling Bonners Ferry her home. As a committed mother and grandmother, she firmly believes parents should have the freedom to choose how and where their children are educated, while also celebrating the exceptional quality of education BCSD provides to its families.
Robin is looking forward to welcoming Boundary County Online School families this fall!
Matt Dinning

Welcome to Overture Learning through Boundary County School District. My name is Matt Dinning and I am a teacher and learning guide. Together, we will create a meaningful educational experience for your family.
I earned my degree in education from Lewis-Clark State College and have been working in the field of education for over 24 years. I have had the privilege of being a teacher in a variety of areas. I have taught in special education, behavior/life skills, 5th grade, and as an online teacher. It is my goal to help students become lifelong learners. I enjoy helping students learn in a safe and secure environment, so they are comfortable taking risks that promote learning.
I was born and raised in Northern Idaho and enjoy the lifestyle of rural living. My wife, Jessica, and I have a home in Boundary County. We have a dog, Hemi, who loves it when I take him for walks. My hobbies include gardening, fishing, and a variety of other outdoor activities.
The educational milestones that we will reach this year are exciting. It will be a pleasure to meet each of you and create custom learning experiences for your family.
